A quick (10-minute) sketch of my table and meal at my favourite cafe. This is a digital 'watercolour' and 'pen' sketch using Procreate. I mimicked an approach I often take when drawing in the field—laying down a rough watercolour impression and then refining it with pen over the top. I hoped to achieve the same spontaneous and imperfect quality that I get when using actual watercolour on paper. In some ways this was made easy by the fact that the Apple pencil does not behave like a brush! I just tried to go with it. At least I didn't have to wait for anything to dry!
